Since its inception in 2008, Shein has quickly become a leading online fashion retailer. With a large selection of trendy clothing at attractively low prices, it’s no wonder Shein has become so popular.
However, recent allegations have surfaced that Shein may be using child labor in their manufacturing processes. Is this true, and if so, what can be done?
Does Shein Use Child Labor?
There are allegations that Shein uses child labor to provide cheap clothing. While Shein has not confirmed or denied these allegations, they have made a statement saying “Shein is dedicated to the well-being of our global community, and takes these allegations very seriously.”
If you’re looking for ethically-made clothing, there are plenty of other options out there. Some great places to start are Zady, Everlane, and Patagonia.
